The White Sox recalled Colas from Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday. He'll start in right field and will bat seventh in the White Sox's series finale with the Brewers.
Chicago opened up room for Colas on the 26-man active roster by placing left fielder Andrew Benintendi (Achilles) on the 10-day injured list. The White Sox will likely turn to Colas and Dominic Fletcher to serve as the primary replacements in the outfield for the duration of Benintendi's stay on the shelf, though both players will draw starts in the outfield Sunday while Gavin Sheets covers first base in place of Andrew Vaughn (finger), who is day-to-day. Colas delivered a lowly .571 OPS in 75 games with the big club in 2023 and hasn't been overly impressive at Charlotte this season, slashing .244/.358/.406 with five home runs and six stolen bases over 193 plate appearances.

The White Sox plan to call up Colas from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Colas' upcoming call-up comes after Andrew Benintendi (Achilles) and Andrew Vaughn (finger) sustained in-game injuries in Saturday's loss to the Brewers, making it likely that at least one of the two will require a stint on the IL. Colas owned a .571 OPS in 263 plate appearances with Chicago last season and is slashing .244/.358/.406 with five home runs at Triple-A Charlotte in 2024.
Colas was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte by the White Sox on Thursday.
Colas was up for just one day, making a pinch-hitting appearance in Wednesday's game versus the Guardians. The White Sox will announce a corresponding move prior to Friday's contest against the Reds.

As anticipated, Colas will join the big club after the White Sox placed infielder Yoan Moncada (adductor) on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. With the White Sox sitting on a 2-9 record and already trending toward fading from the playoff race with Moncada and two other key regulars in Luis Robert (hip) and Eloy Jimenez (adductor) on the IL, Colas could end up getting a look as an everyday player in the outfield. The 25-year-old did little to distinguish himself after making the White Sox's Opening Day roster last spring, as he slashed just .216/.257/.314 over 263 plate appearances and ultimately finished the 2023 season in the minors. Colas had posted an .875 OPS with one stolen base through his first eight games with Charlotte this season prior to receiving a promotion.
