  • Edmundo Sosa SS | PHI

Phillies' Edmundo Sosa: Not in Sunday's lineup

Sosa is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Sosa started the past 10 games at shortstop and posted a 1.026 OPS during that span, but he'll take a seat for Sunday's contest. Bryson Stott will shift to shortstop while Kody Clemens receives a start at the keystone.

  • Dylan Moore SS | SEA

Mariners' Dylan Moore: Hitting bench Sunday

Moore is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.

Moore will take a seat in the series finale after he went 1-for-14 with eight strikeouts while starting each of the past four games at either second base or third base. While he remains in the mix for steady playing at the keystone with Jorge Polanco (hamstring) on the injured list, Moore looks to be slowing down at the plate after a hot run over the first three weeks of May. Dating back to May 23, Moore is slashing .103/.297/.138 over a stretch of nine games. If Moore's struggles continue, Ryan Bliss could end up unseating him as the preferred option at second base.

  • Willy Adames SS | MIL

Brewers' Willy Adames: Joining Sunday's lineup

Adames is starting at shortstop and batting cleanup Sunday against the White Sox.

Both Adames and William Contreras were scheduled to receive their first days off of the season Sunday, but they were apparently able to lobby their way into the starting nine. Over the past 11 games, Adames is hitting .372 with six doubles, two homers, 13 RBI and seven runs.

  • Zach McKinstry SS | DET

Tigers' Zach McKinstry: Sitting after two straight starts

McKinstry is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

McKinstry picked up starts at shortstop and second base Friday and Saturday, respectively, going 1-for-6 with a double. Though both Colt Keith (.594 OPS) and Javier Baez (.481 OPS) have turned in poor numbers as the Tigers' regular starters in the middle infield this season, McKinstry (.499 OPS in 91 plate appearances) hasn't done much to make a case for steadier playing time.

  • C.J. Abrams SS | WAS

Nationals' CJ Abrams: Scratched again Sunday

Abrams (shoulder) was scratched from Sunday's lineup against the Guardians, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Abrams was penciled in to start at shortstop and bat leadoff but has instead been scratched for the second straight game due to a jammed left shoulder. The 23-year-old should be considered day-to-day heading into Monday's series opener versus the Mets. Ildemaro Vargas will start at shortstop Sunday in place of Abrams.

  • Carlos Correa SS | MIN

Twins' Carlos Correa: Getting rare day off

Correa is out of the lineup for Sunday's game in Houston.

He'll sit out the series finale against his former club in what looks to be little more than a maintenance day. Willi Castro will fill in at shortstop for Correa, who had started in each of the Twins' last 21 games.

  • C.J. Abrams SS | WAS

Nationals' CJ Abrams: Rejoining lineup Sunday

Abrams (shoulder) is starting at shortstop and batting leadoff Sunday against the Guardians, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

The 23-year-old jammed his shoulder on a diving play Friday and was scratched from Saturday's lineup, but he's back in the starting nine for Sunday's series finale in Cleveland. Abrams is in a bit of a funk at the plate, as he's gone 0-for-14 with eight strikeouts over his past three contests.

  • Willy Adames SS | MIL

Brewers' Willy Adames: Receiving first day off

Adames is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Adames started the first 58 games of the season at shortstop for the Brewers but will take a seat for Sunday's series finale versus Chicago. The 28-year-old has carried a hot bat over the past 11 contests with two homers, 13 RBI and a 1.100 OPS in 43 at-bats. Joey Ortiz will shift to shortstop while Oliver Dunn receives a start at third base.

  • Romy Gonzalez SS | BOS

Red Sox's Romy Gonzalez: Lands on IL with hamstring strain

The Red Sox placed Gonzalez on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a left hamstring strain.

Gonzalez was one of two Boston infielders to hit the shelf Sunday with a hamstring injury, as Vaughn Grissom (hamstring) was also deactivated. The lefty-hitting Enmanuel Valdez is expected to occupy the strong side of a platoon at second base while Grissom is on the IL, but Gonzalez might have been the preferred option at the keystone against left-handed pitching had he not strained his hamstring. Jamie Westbrook -- whose contract was selected from Triple-A Worcester on Sunday -- now profiles as a likely platoon mate for Valdez at second base.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Rangers' Corey Seager: Streak reaches 14 games

Seager went 3-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in Saturday's 7-0 win over Miami.

The calendar flipping from May to June did nothing to slow down Seager. After posting a 1.047 OPS during May, Seager extended a hitting streak to 14 games on the first day of the new month. He's 19-for-51 (.373) with nine home runs, 14 RBI and 11 runs scored during the streak.
