The second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs certainly has gotten off to a thrilling start. On Wednesday, two very contrasting results took place across the league.

First, after falling behind 1-0 early on, the Florida Panthers dominated the Boston Bruins in a 6-1 rout to tie the second-round series at 1-1. Forwards Aleksander Barkov and Sam Reinhart each registered four-point performances to pace the Panthers' scoring attack. Barkov had two goals and two assists, while Reinhart tallied four assists.

Just 24 hours after the Colorado Avalanche erased a three-goal deficit to defeat the Dallas Stars, it was the Vancouver Canucks' turn to do the same. The Edmonton Oilers raced out to a 4-1 lead due to a pair of goals from star winger Zach Hyman

The Canucks were trailing 4-2 entering the third period, but defenseman Nikita Zadorov tied the game at the 13:47 mark off a point shot. Less than a minute later, Conor Garland scored his first goal of the postseason to give the Canucks a 5-4 lead that they ultimately would hang onto to take Game 1 of the series. It marked the second time in franchise history the Canucks won a playoff game after trailing by three or more goals.

The structure of the playoffs is as follows:

  • The division winner with the most points in each conference will face the second Wild Card team in the first round. The division winner with fewer points in each conference will match up with the top Wild Card team in the first round.
  • Each series will be a best-of-seven format.
  • Home-ice advantage goes to the team with the top seed in the first two rounds of the playoffs. The team with the most points in the regular season has home-ice advantage in the conference finals and Stanley Cup Final.

Below is how you can follow each series in the first round along with updating results and scores from each game. Bookmark this page for the duration of the playoff run to stay up to date with everything on the ice.
