Arkansas had one of the most experienced rosters in Division I last year as its top nine players in terms of total points scored were in, at least, their third seasons of college basketball. All nine are now departed from Fayetteville, Ark. That includes the team's only double-digit scorers in Tramon Mark (16.2 ppg) and Khalif Battle (14.8 ppg), both of whom still have collegiate eligibility. Mark entered the transfer portal and has since committed to Texas, his third school in three years, while Battle is off to Gonzaga, which will be the fourth school of his college career.
The top underclassmen from last year are also off to greener pastures as C Baye Fall and PG Layden Blocker were top-10 national prospects at their respective positions from the Class of 2023 but have since committed to Kansas State and DePaul, respectively. The Hogs also lost a pair of incoming recruits who had committed to former coach Eric Musselman. While Arkansas lost 4-star prospects Jalen Shelley and Isaiah Elohim, Musselman did not as the two forwards decommitted from Arkansas to only join the former Hogs coach at his new job at USC. Formerly the No. 6 overall prospect in the Class of 2023, Wagner visited Arkansas over Mother's Day Weekend. He is the top combo guard still in the portal, even after a somewhat underwhelming freshman season at Kentucky with 9.9 points and 3.3 assists per game.
The Hogs have also been linked to seniors still in the portal like Wooga Poplar, who played last year for Miami (FL), and Coleman Hawkins, who spent last year at Illinois.
